About

History

Utah Hospitality, L.L.C. was launched in 1993 by Ron Rivett and Jeff Stockert and they are committed to developing hotels that both satisfy the travel needs of hotel guests and provide a fair return on investment to hotel ownership.  From those objectives came our brief but precise mission statement….’Quality Accommodations, Warm Welcoming Hospitality’; but our company’s heritage runs deeper.  Ron Rivett, a founder of Utah Hospitality, was one of two co-founders of the Super 8 Motel brand and franchise system which dates back to 1973.  Super 8 was born with one big idea and one small motel located in Aberdeen, South Dakota.  Through hard work, risk taking and dedication to the hotel business Ron and company grew the Super 8 brand to over 1,000 franchised properties as well as 49 company owned motels before selling the company in 1993 to then Hospitality Franchise Systems, now Wyndham Worldwide.

Since then Utah Hospitality II, L.L.C. has stayed focused on a commitment to building quality hotels committed to providing warm welcoming hospitality to the traveling public. Its success comes from that steadfast commitment.  Out of the company’s growth came new companies such as Quest Hospitality Suppliers, L.L.C. and Legacy Builders, Inc.

Since the inception of Utah Hospitality, 13 hotel projects in the Salt Lake City and Park City market areas have been brought to life (in the case of ground up new developments) or had new life breathed into them (in the case of purchased and repositioned hotels) as well as other new-build hotel projects in California, Florida and Ohio.

The company is based in Aberdeen, South Dakota with a regional field operations office located in Salt Lake City headed up by John Rogers, Director of Operations.

A great deal of pride and attention to detail goes into every project we commit to. We are proud of our work, our people and our product!
